EnviroBuild selected as Finalists for the 2022 London Construction Awards

EnviroBuild is thrilled to announce that it has been chosen as a finalist for two separate categories at the London Construction Awards.

The building products company’s latest indoor flooring design, Sisu LVT, has received a nomination for “Product Innovation of the Year”, while the business as a whole has been selected as a finalist in the “Excellence in Sustainability” category.

The London Construction Awards (LCA) take place once a year to highlight and celebrate the achievements, developments and innovation across London’s booming construction industry. Featuring a wide range of categories for solution providers, suppliers, contractors, architects, civil engineers, developers, local authorities and more, the LCA offers a great opportunity for businesses big and small to gain recognition. The awards are impartially judged by a panel of industry-leading experts.

This year, the ceremony will take place on the 23rd of September at the Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge Hotel where the winners will be announced. The spokesperson for EnviroBuild, Dr Aidan Bell, expressed his excitement for the upcoming event,

“We are delighted to have been selected for not one, but two different awards at this year’s edition of the London Construction Awards. The work we’ve put into lowering the embodied carbon of our Sisu LVT range can hopefully help new projects hit ambitious net zero targets, and we’re honoured to have been recognised for such a prestigious prize. While winning either of the categories would be a huge achievement for EnviroBuild, we are also looking forward to seeing the other finalists and what they have to show.”

Thanks to their persistent and ongoing commitment towards a greener environment, it is no wonder that EnviroBuild has been selected as a finalist for the “Excellence in Sustainability” award. Ever since its inception, EnviroBuild has been committed to building a more eco-friendly future, making it their mission to remove the compromise between quality and sustainability commonly found in the construction industry. For example, their continued work with Rainforest Trust UK (donating 10% of all company profits to the charity) has helped EnviroBuild protect more than 300,000 acres of rainforest since it was formed in 2015. In 2021 EnviroBuild invested in conducting full cradle to grave Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) on all Composites, Sisu flooring and Manticore products, helping them to identify and tackle sustainability gaps in every one of their products. Since then, the business has transitioned to using 100% wind energy in all of its manufacturing processes. This has allowed EnviroBuild to get ever closer to becoming a truly carbon neutral business; a total of 1,420,600 Kilograms of CO2e was saved through last year’s changes alone.

The fact that EnviroBuild is the first company in the UK to publish the environmental impact of its composite products with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) shows just how committed the business is to a sustainable future. EnviroBuild is also a proud member of World Land Trusts Carbon Balanced Programme, to offset their unavoidable emissions related to their general operations.

EnviroBuild’s Sisu LVT indoor flooring continues the brand’s ethos of environmental sustainability. Its latest range of Sisu Luxury Vinyl Dry-Back Tiles are now the most sustainable LVT on the market in terms of Global Warming Potential and have been designed and manufactured using fully sustainable wind energy. Sisu is made using 100% recycled PVC that would otherwise go to landfill, therefore accounting for 12-23% of the total product being truly recycled (rather than post industrial waste offcuts). Dr Aidan Bell is very pleased to hear that the vinyl flooring has been nominated for “Product Innovation of the Year”, stating,

“We’re always looking to bring in more sustainable practices in our work at EnviroBuild, and our latest changes to Sisu LVT production is just the start. We’re working towards a totally carbon neutral workplace in the near future by looking into all the possible channels to employ sustainable and renewable practices throughout our products and supply chains.”

Sisu LVT flooring’s nomination for “Product Innovation of the Year” can also be attributed to the plethora of other innovations that the new flooring design brings. As well as being durable, light and easy to install with award-winning Ultrabond Eco adhesive, Sisu is both water-resistant and sound absorbing with a soft and warm underfoot, which is perfect for indoor applications. The flooring also comes with a 35-year residential warranty against wear-out, staining and fading (10-year for commercial use).
